Obituary of Vincent Lasko
Vincent J. Lasko, 86, of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie. Mr. Lasko was a driver for the New York State Department of Transportation, retiring in 1983. He previously worked at Wire O and United Cleaners. Mr. Lasko served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and also was a past member of several drum corp. Born Nov. 14, 1921 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Kosto Lasko. He graduated from St. Peter's Grammar School and Poughkeepsie High School. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Stephen, John, William, Joseph and Julius Lasko and three sisters, Mary VanEtten, Elizabeth Lasko and Helen Kormondy. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Poughkeepsie. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie.
