Obituary of Donald Lear

Donald L. Lear 78 of the Town of Poughkeepsie Died Friday September 16, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born in Mount Kisco New York on March 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Raymond W. and Alice Elizabeth Lyon Lear. Donald was a graduate of Pleasantville High School and also attended PACE University. He was a local resident since 1966 and previously resided in Bedford New York. On June 6, 1953 at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne, Donald married JoAnn Heyman. Donald owned and operated the Donald Lear Financial Services Company in Poughkeepsie New York retiring in 1995. He was a Past Board Member of the Arlington School District, serving on the board for 17 years. Two of those years Donald was the President of the School Board. Donald was a member of the Arlington Reform Church and an avid Train Enthusiast. Donald is survived by his wife JoAnn at home, daughter Lori Lear of Wappingers Falls NY, son and daughter in-law Stephen and Deanne Lear of Poughkeepsie NY, and daughter and her partner Lisa Lear and Mark Ware of Las Vegas. Donald is also survived by his grandchildren Kyle Lear, Michael Lear, Stephen Lear Jr., Indria Kulkarni, Eric Kulkarni and his great granddaughter Avianna Roger. Donald was predeceased by a brother Raymond Lear Jr., and is survived by several nieces and nephews. Of Celebration of Donald’s life will be held Wednesday September 21, 2011 from 5pm to 7pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie New York 12603. Words of remembrance will start at 6:30pm. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family, at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Community Mausoleum.
