Obituary of Regina Long
"In the lilt of Irish laughter, you can hear the angels sing" Regina Katherine Long 94 entered into eternal rest on June 30, 2008. Regina was born on March 6, 1914 the daughter of the late Bridget and William Ringwood and was a life long Poughkeepsie resident. Regina enjoyed her wonderful family, the New York Yankees, the Boston Celtics, watching Jeopardy and the Wheel of Fortune. Ice Cream was her favorite sweet treat and she enjoyed it everyday. We all loved Regina "Ringy" dearly, but she always seemed to love us even more: Daughter and Son in-law Lynne and Allyn Hammel, Son and Daughter in-law Leonard and Patricia Long, Daughter in-law Mary Alice Long wife of the late Paul Long Jr. Regina would never forget any of her grandchildren or great-grandchildren, whom she cherished: Kurt Hammel, Kelly and Michael Cuzzupoli, Kristen Long, Paul and Sarah Long, Allison Long, Jesse Long, fiancé Ann Gough and Kathryn Baker. Natalie and Emma Cuzzupoli were the greatest joy, her special great-granddaughters. Regina was predeceased by her husband Paul Sr., her loving sons Paul Jr., (2003) and William (2003), and her "special" sweet daughter, Carol Ann (1987). The First Saturday Club held a special place in Mom's heart. Regina was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 10:00am. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 from 5:00 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY. Contributions may be made to The First Saturday Handicap Club, 14 Bain Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. The extraordinary care and support provided to Mom by the entire family and by the caregivers, Althea, Lena, Maureen and Winsome and Maggie and the staff at The Pines of Poughkeepsie, will forever be remembered and has Mom has taught us, we say Thank You. P.S. Say hi to Paul, Will and Carol!
