Obituary of Charlotte Mackey

Charlotte Mackey, 92, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation Center, Highland, NY. Born in Poughkeepsie March 6, 1919, she was the daughter of Charles and Katherine Wermuth Madison. On June 12, 1943 she married Stephen M. Mackey, JR. in St. Peter's Church, Poughkeepsie. Mrs. Mackey was educated in Poughkeepsie schools and was employed at Luckey, Platt & Co. She was a member of United Postal Workers Auxiliary and held numerous offices on local and state levels. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Peggy-Ann and Albert Carlson, Highland, NY, grandson Kenneth Carlson and his wife, Deborah Kearns, Delmar, NY, grandson Daniel Carlson and his wife, Regina Carlson, Westchester, PA. She is also survived by great grandsons, Jude Carlson, Westchester, PA Michael Carlson and Thomas Carlson, Delmar. In addition, she is survived by a sister, Rose Kearney of Poughkeepsie and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, sister, Catherine Kimlin and brothers, Charles Madison, James Madison and Leonard Madison. She was also predeceased by infant siblings, Olive Madison, Mary Madison, Frank Madison, Albert Madison and Joan Alice Madison. Calling hours will be at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371Hooker.Ave. Poughkeepsie, Friday April8 from 4 PM to 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10am Saturday April 9, 2011 at the Funeral Home. Internment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery following the funeral services. The family would like to thank the staff of 1East, Hudson Valley Rehab for Excellent care provided during the last 5 years of Mrs. Mackey's life.
