Goodbye Bobby. I am so so sorry for your loss. Your dad, Mr. Martin to me, was a terrific man who gave so much to others. I have such fond childhood memories of him. I will always remember him calling me "Sam" and saying to Tami and I "hey" let's go to a Yankee game singing patriot sounds the whole way there. Dear Mrs. Martin and family, It is with great sadness to hear of Mr. Martin's passing. Although he is a legacy to Poughkeepsie sports and will be remembered by Frank in that capacity, I will always remember him as our neighbor and friend of the family. The wonderful, funny, kind man who made our trips to Atlantic City and Mystic Conn. so much fun and extra special. He always wore a smile and had a kind word to say. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and I know he is in heaven, joined with my father and his many friends who have passed before him talking baseball and reliving the glory days. During my four years as Poughkeepsie City Chamberlain, Bobby Martin stood out as one of the most friendly, personable, and honest people in city government. It was a delight to chat with Bobby whether going to his office or during Common Council meetings. He must have had a magic wand hidden somethere in his desk because he made impossible things happen! My life is richer because I knew this wonderful man. My prayers, thoughts, and condolences to his family.

There was no one like Bobby Martin...Seeing Bobby would make my day better. The ultimate sports guy and such a wonderful person. He was bigger than life going all the way back to Little League in the early 60's. He will be missed by all.
