Obituary of Magdelena Matos
Magdelena Matos, age 97, of Pleasant Valley died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck New York. Magdelena was born November 22, 1913 in Utuado PR, the daughter of the late Antonio and the late Milagros (Perez) Valentin. On May 7, 1936 in Utuado she married Eduardo Matos, he predeceased her April 1973.
Magdelena was a three year local resident, previously of Flushing Queens and Puerto Rico. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, she loved to cook and enjoyed being with her family. She was a retired employee of ILGWA White Plains New York as a Seamstress.
She is survived by her Son And Daughter In-law, Edward And Glydas Matos of Angelis, PR; Son And Daughter In-law, Jose And Susan Matos of CA; Son In-law, Joseph Fasolino of Pleasant Valley, NY, Sister Milagros Valentin of Angelis PR, her grandchildren, Robert and Jessica Matos, Jennifer and John Hinkle, Edward Matos Jr., David and Diana Matos, Melissa and Steven Pantelis, Joseph and Babette Fasolino, Michael and Linda Fasolino, Denise and Patrick OâÂÂDonoghue and Patrick and Julie Fasolino. Magdelena is also survived by her 13 great grandchildren, Alison, Joseph, Chelsea, Nicole, Nicholis, Michaela, Brianna, Gabrielle, Patrick, Alix, Sebastian, Steven Jr. and Selina.
Magdelena was predeceased by her daughter Blanca E. Fasolino and her two brothers Antonio and German Valentin.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6pm to9pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie New York.
Memorial Donations maybe made in her name, to the Baptist Home, Route 308 Rhinebeck New York.
