Obituary of Robert Memmoli

Robert V. Memmoli, age 63, of Poughkeepsie died Friday, October 7, 2011 at home. Robert was born January 2, 1947 in Queens, NY. He is the son of Victor and the late Irene (White) Memmoli. On December 2, 1972 at St. Luke’s Church in Whitestone, NY, Robert married Carolyn F. Chicavich; she predeceased him September 14, 1993. He was a local resident since 1985 previously of Queens, NY. Robert was raised in Orlando, Florida and moved back to NY in 1969 after completing his education at the University of Miami. He attended graduate school at NYU and St. John’s University. He loved the Arts, fishing and travel. Robert retired in 2007 from the Wappinger’s School District, where he was a Principal at Myers Corners Elementary School. Robert also previously worked as a Teacher and Assistant Principal in the Dover Plains School District and the New York City Board of Education. Robert is survived by two sons; Daniel Eric Memmoli and his fiancé Angela Spagna of Wappinger’s Falls, NY; Jonathan Peter Memmoli of Poughkeepsie, NY; his father Victor Memmoli of Leesburg, Florida and his brother and sister in-law William and Anita Memmoli of Leesburg, Florida; and his mother in-law Anne Chicavich of Bayside, NY. He is also survived by two brother in-law’s John and Mark Chicavich and he was loved by his many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at St. Martin de Porres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
