Obituary of Gita Mozeshtam
Gita Mozeshtam, 89, a 16 year resident of the town of Poughkeepsie and formerly of Columbus, Ohio died on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at River Valley Care Center. Ms. Mozeshtam was born on June 27, 1922 in Riga, Latvia. She was the daughter of Feiga and Abraham Perlman. She married Helman Mozeshtam on October 7, 1949 in Riga, Latvia. In 1980 they emigrated to the United States. Helman predeceased her on November 3, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Fanya Mozeshtam; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Anna Mozeshtam, all of Poughkeepsie; four granddaughters, Tanya Kleyn and Beth Vayshenker of New York City and Fanya and Leah Mozeshtam of Poughkeepsie; a brother and sister-in-law Tanhum and Rivka Perlman of Haifa, Israel; a sister-in-law Faina Greenberg of Montreal, Canada; and several nieces and nephews; she was predeceased by her sisters: Chaya Krasnyanskya, Taube Zilberg and Pesya Polyatskin. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 11am at the Congregation Schomre Israel Cemetery, Lagrange Avenue, Poughkeepsie.
