Obituary of Karen Pells
Karen Pells, 69, passed away November 12, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was born December 21, 1941 in Poughkeepsie the daughter of Henry and Marion Williams Lintel. On February 14, 1984 she married Bruce Pells at St. James Church in Hyde Park, NY. He predeceased her on April 2, 2004. Karen was an administrative assistant for William & Lintel Printing until her retirement after many years. She was an active member of the Republican Committee, a life member of Lady's Auxiliary of the Rochdale Fire Company and past Commissioner of the Arlington Fire District. Karen was a member of Holy Trinity Church. She enjoyed quilting, spending time at her lake house, her beloved dog Magic and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Karen is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws John & Sharon Warman, Jr., of Poughkeepsie and David & Tiffany Warman of Arizona; daughters Deidre Karn & her husband Mark and Jennifer Davis & husband Chip all of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren Libby, patrick, Daniel, Jason, Lauren, Stephanie, Cortney, Corey, Justin & Adam; great-granddaughter Cheyenne; brother Henry Lintel & his wife Eleanor and several nieces & nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at VBMC for their loving care with special thanks to Marie in ICU. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 4-8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to SPCA, 568 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY or Office of the Aging, 27 High St. #3, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
