Obituary of Victor Pisanelli
Victor M. "Mickey" Pisanelli, Jr., age 57, of Poughkeepsie died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at, home surrounded by his loving family.
Victor was born June 10, 1953 in Poughkeepsie, NY the son of the late Victor Michael and the late Helen (Albeno) Pisanelli.
He married Marion M. Swartz July 3, 1984 in Poughkeepsie New York.
He attended St. Mary's School in Poughkeepsie, was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and a lifelong local resident.
He served 20 years in the Army and the 105th Air National Guard, retiring as a Sgt.
He retired from the Dutchess County Jail in Poughkeepsie New York after 25 years as a Corrections Officer in 2009.
Vic was an avid Yankees and Sports Fan. He loved his music, mainly rock and roll and going to concerts. Something he and his daughter would share together. Vic and his son would collect autographs and now it has become his son's hobby. Vic had a very infectious laugh and smile. Anyone who came into his presence would be blessed with it. He was a very compassionate and caring man.
He is survived by his wife: Marion M.(Swartz) Pisanelli, at home in Poughkeepsie, his daughter Lyvia Pisanelli and her significant other Andrew Spadaro of Hyde Park, his son and his fiance Victor Michael Pisanelli III and Lisa Collazo of Orlando Florida. He is also survived by his sister and her husband Brenda and James Jackson of Florida, brother and his wife John and Phyllis Pisanelli of Tenn., sister and her significant other Joann Lawrence and Brendan Flynn of Poughkeepsie, God Daughter Ashley Gross, Mother in-law Jean Swartz and his brother in-laws and sister in-laws Leonard and Geraldine Swartz, Bill and Marge Swartz, Helen and Steve Veach, Janet and Gary Gross and Robert Swartz. Also surviving are his stepmother, Kathryn Pisanelli Wagner of Tenn., his Aunt Miriam Pisanelli, good friends Sandy and Cal Collazo, best friend Jim Montross of Clinton Corners, nieces,nephews, cousins and his dog Baby.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie New York with military Honors.
Since Vic has always donated to Hospice and now they have come and cared for him in his home, so we ask that family and friends donate what you can to keep this wonderful organization available to all that are in need of them during their journey. They are truly a blessing to all. The family would especially like to thank Julie for the care she gave to Vic and his family.
