Obituary of Norman Earle Pratt

Norman Earle Pratt, 82, of Wappingers Falls, NY, died at The Pines At Poughkeepsie on Tuesday, June 10, 2008. He had previously been employed as a Programmer at IBM, Poughkeepsie. He also worked at the West Park Winery after his retirement in 1986. A local resident for 45 years, he resided previously in Syracuse, New York. He was a past coach for the Town of Poughkeepsie Little League. Mr. Pratt served in the United States Navy, he served from 1943 1946. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and gardener. He took courses at the Cary Arboretum and was also into Genealogy with his brother. Born in Brockton, MA on October 20, 1925, he was the son of Stanley Pratt and Edith Chadbourne. He married Patricia E. Ellis on May 23, 1959 in Syracuse, New York. Survivors include Son and Daughter In-law; Russell David and Mary Ellen Pratt of Wappingers Falls, NY; Daughter and Son In-law; Marcia Ellen and Joseph Mori of Fishkill, NY; Son and Daughter In-law; Jeffrey Allen and Elaine Pratt of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Daughter and Son Inlaw; Susan Marie and Gary Reichel of Poughkeepsie, NY; Grandchildren Chad, Court and Cameron; he is also survived by Two Nieces and he was Predeceased by a Brother Willard Pratt. The family would like to express their appreciation for the fine care the staff of the 5th Floor at The Pines at Poughkeepsie had given to Norman. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A funeral service will take place Friday, June 13, 2008 at Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church with Rev. Thompson-Gee officiating. Burial will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
