Obituary of Carl Rohde

Carl H. Rohde, 62, of the town of Poughkeepsie died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Carl was a Truck Driver for Conway Central in Montgomery New York. And retired from Local 445 He was a local resident all his life, a past member of the Poughkeepsie Elks # 275. Carl served in the National Guard in Poughkeepsie, was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. He was an avid JETS fan and loved going to car shows. Born in Poughkeepsie, New York on January 8, 1949 he was the son of the late Carl H. and Kathleen Rogan Rohde. On June 21, 1991 he married Marian E. Dolan. Carl is survived by his wife Marian, at home in Poughkeepsie, his mother Kathleen Rohde of Highland, NY, daughter Maureen Rohde of Poughkeepsie, NY, his son Sean Rohde of Poughkeepsie, NY and his sister Debbie Rohde of Highland NY. Carl is also survived by his brother and sisters in-law, Maureen and Hugh O'Rourke of Long Island, John and Nancy Dolan of Highland Mills, Peggy and Stan Lanigan of Poughkeepsie, Raymond and Denise Dolan of Long Island, Susan Dolan of the Bronx, and many nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by his father Carl and brother in-law Bobby Dolan. Calling hours will be held Tuesday April 19, 2011 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peters Parish, 185 Hudson Drive Poughkeepsie New York. The celebrant of the mass will be Father James A. Garisto. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Carl's name to the American Cancer Society 2678 South Road, Suite 102, Poughkeepsie New York.
