Obituary of Zachary Rowell

Zachary James Rowell, 23, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010 in Pennsylvania. A lifelong Poughkeepsie resident, he had recently relocated to Stewartstown, PA. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Church. Zachary was happiest spending his time outdoors, was an avid cook, loved music and most of all, spending time with his brothers and family. With a wonderful sense of humor and sensitivity to other people, Zachary was loving and kind. He touched the hearts of all he met. Born in Poughkeepsie on April 4, 1987, he was the son of Peter J. Rowell and Patrice RowellMeltzer. He is survived by his mother, Patrice Rowell-Meltzer of Poughkeepsie; James Meltzer of Tampa, FL; his father, Peter J. Rowell of Stewartstown, PA; his brothers, Sean McKnight and sister-in-law, Tara McKnight of Moyock, NC and Matthew McKnight and his partner, Tracy Gardner of Red Hook, NY. In addition, Zachary is survived by many beloved Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will follow visitation at 6pm at the funeral home. Rev. Gail Burger will conduct a Prayer Service.
