Obituary of Michael Sheftic

Michael Sheftic, 77, a local residence of the Town of Poughkeepsie since 1957, formerly of Jenners, PA, died April 7, 2009 at home. He was a Firefighter for the City of Poughkeepsie for 37 Years retiring in 1987, also worked at Adams Fairacres Farm, Poughkeepsie, a Staff Sgt, Air Force, 1952 - 1956, Korean Conflict, a member of Holy Trinity Church and Graduated from Schools in Penn. Born March 3, 1932, in Jenners, PA, he was the son of Michael and Anna Hudak Sheftic. On June 27, 1959, at Holy Trinity Church, Poughkeepsie, NY, he married Jane H. Howard. Survivors include, wife, Jane H. Sheftic, Poughkeepsie, NY; son, Michael P. Sheftic,Jr. and his girlfriend Shari Davis of Poughkeepsie, NY; son, Thomas G. Sheftic and his girlfriend Cindy Tarr of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughter and sonin-law, Ann Marie And Edward Coffey of Newburgh, NY; sister, Lois Casto of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Nicole, Shaun and Kaleigh Sheftic. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 14, 2009 at 9:45am at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY.
