Obituary of Louis Smith

Louis F. Smith, age 87, a resident of Hyde Park, New York, died Friday, January 21, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Mr. Smith was born December 11, 1923 in Poughkeepsie, NY the son of the late Otto and the late Hattie (Frank) Smith. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Louis loved to go fly-fishing, Hunting, play cards, loved classical music, old movies and most of all his family. He was employed by Standard Gage Poughkeepsie as a Machinist. He is survived by; one sister: Helen Bishop of Florida, Sister In-law Kaye Smith of Poughkeepsie New York and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his Son, Richard "Richey" Smith and his brothers and sister; Edward, Raymond, William, Richard, Otto and Ethel Smith. Calling hours will be Monday from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring at the Clove Cemetery.
