Obituary of Brother James Stevens

Brother James Stevens was born in New York, NY and entered the Marist Brothers Novitiate, Tyngsboro, MA in 1958. Brother James received the Marist Habit in 1959. Brother James taught Mathematics at Cardinal Hayes High School and Mount Saint Michael Academy, Bronx, NY (Archdiocese of New York); Christopher Columbus High School and Monsignor Edward Pace High School, Miami, FL (Archdiocese of Miami). He was presently teaching at Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Poughkeepsie, NY. Brother James graduated Marist College and received an MS in Mathematics from Saint John’s University, Queens, NY. Brother James is the son of the late John Stevens and Grace Williams. Visitation will be held Friday August 20, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie New York 12603. A Mass of Christian burial will be 9:45am Saturday August 21, 2010 at St. Mary’s Church 231 Church St. Poughkeepsie New York.
