Obituary of Ruth Timm

Ruth M. Timm, 96, of Town of Poughkeepsie, died March 2, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She had been a Physical Education Professor at Vassar College, retiring June 30, 1978. Previously of Yonkers, NY, she was a local resident since 1944. Ruth was a member of Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church. Born Nov. 18, 1912 in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of Julius L and Marie L. Streb Timm. She was a 1934 graduate of Mt. Holyoke and received her Masters of Education from Smith College. Survivors include cousins, Mildred Bushey, Vero Beach, FL, John Streb, Milford, PA, Fred Streb and Elizabeth Streb, as well as many loving friends who she considered family. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Vassar College Physical Education Department, Raymond Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Arrangements under the direction of the Timothy P.
