Obituary of Frank Varga
Frank Varga, 87, of the town of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at home. Previously of Middletown, NY and a Poughkeepsie resident since 1994, Mr. Varga was born in Dunakeszi, Hungry on May 13, 1924 to the late Steve and Katherine Verozs Varga. He married Theresa Wagner on August 26, 1950 in Austria. Mrs. Varga survives at home. Frank was a butcher at Lloyd's Supermarket in Middletown, retiring in 1986. He was a hunter, fisherman and loved to garden and enjoyed making wine, Frank was also a active associate member with the Croft Corners Fire Department Station 5. In addition to his wife, Mr. Varga is survived by his daughter Marie Varga of Slatehill, NY, his son and wife Karl and Jessica Varga of Tacoma, WA, son Josef Varga of Bloomingburg, NY and son Anton Varga of Poughkeepsie. He is also survived by grandchildren Josef Varga, Jr., Steven Varga and Karl Varga, Jr., his great-grandchildren Andrew and Austin, as well as several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two sisters Theresa Toth and Julie Sipos. Mr. Varga as predeceased by a son Frank, Jr., and son Steven Varga and his daughter Kathleen Varga and his grandson Christopher Varga. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011, from 6:00 - 9:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12063. The Funeral Service will be Friday, August 26, 2011 at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Stamford, NY.
