Obituary of Irene Wagler

Irene M. Wagler 92 of the Town of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday May 25, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital. A life long resident, born in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Maria Lucas Csizmar. Irene attended Nativity School and Poughkeepsie High School. Irene worked at Western Publishing retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Croft Corners Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and past Officer of the Organization. Irene was also a member of the Western Publishing Retirement Club and enjoyed working in her Rose Garden. On June 9, 1941 at the Nativity Church in Poughkeepsie, she married William R. Wagler Sr. William predeceased her on September 7, 1992. Irene is survived by, her son and daughter in-law; Robert J. and Camille C. Wagler of Poughkeepsie, daughter and son in-law; Ruth and Carl Davidson of Poughkeepsie and her daughter in-law; Ann Wagler of Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Gregory S. Wagler of Poughkeepsie, Jennifer L. Wagler of Oakland, Shari Wagler of Florida, Richard Morrison of Poughkeepsie, her great grandchildren Gregory S. Wagler Jr., Nicholis J. Wagler and Richard W. Morrison and several nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her Husband, her son William R. Wagler Jr. (August 14, 2004), her stepmother Anna Csizmar, Sister Mary Bellock and her two brothers Stephen and John Csizmar. Calling hours will be held Monday May 30, 2011 from 2pm to 6pm, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Tuesday May 31, 2011 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Poughkeepsie New York. Burial will follow at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
