Obituary of Jean Washburn

Jean M. Washburn, age 71, of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, January 14, 2011 at home. Mrs. Washburn was born September 27, 1939 in Morristown, NJ the daughter of the late Eugene and the late Helen (Hart) Caffrey. On March 30, 1957 she married James Washburn in Mason City Iowa. He predeceased her on April 17, 1996. She was employed by Pangia and Co. Poughkeepsie New York as a Secretary. A local resident all her life, she loved to travel and do craft work. She is survived by one son: David Washburn of Poughkeepsie, NY, daughter and son in-law, Ann and Robert Becker of Port Ewen, NY; daughter and son in-law, Margaret and Kevin Klanson of Germantown, NY; daughter and son in-law, Mary and Karl Kuenneke of Rock Tavern, NY; daughter and son in-law, Jean and Frank Kuenneke of Rock Tavern, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael, Brian and Cara Becker, Meghan and Brittany Klanson, Erich, Ashley and Frank Kuenneke, her three sisters: Kathleen McGovern, Elizabeth McGovern, Helen Caffrey and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral service will be at 3:30pm during visitation. Burial will be at the Freedom Plains Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , Attn.
