Obituary of Virginia Wood

Virginia A. Wood, 64, of Hopewell Junction, NY, died October 15, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital. She had been a LPN at Lutheran Care Center, Poughkeepsie, New York and at Wingate in Fishkill. She was a 35 Year Local Resident, having also lived in White Plains, NY. She was a member of The River Church of Poughkeepsie. She liked to watch local soccer at Germainia Field, loved spending time with her grandchildren and doing family outings. Born May 7, 1944 in White Plains, NY, she was the daughter of William Larkin and Mary Keller. She was a graduate of White Plains High School, and Yorktown Boces LPN Program. On June 4, 2000, she married Gordon F. Wood at Valley Christian Church, Hopewell Junction. Mr Wood survives at home. Survivors include Son and Daughter in-law; William and Brett Mygan of Lagrangeville; Son and Daughter in-law; Chris and Cathy Mygan of Connecticut; Son and Daughter inlaw; Martin and Karen Mygan of Holmes, NY; Sister; Deborah Oravic of Poughkeepsie, NY; Grandchildren; Danielle Mygan, Mark Mygan, Daniel Mygan and Heather Muriel; Great Grandchildren; Xavier and Divina Hernandez; Godson; James Oravic of Virginia and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday, October 17, 2008 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at The River Church, South Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie.
