Obituary of Priscilla Langer
Priscilla Langer, 92, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Born in Peekskill, New York, on March 23, 1919, Mrs. Langer was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Van Tassel Vogt. On June 14, 1941, she married John Wilbur Langer at the Church of the Assumption in Peekskill. Mr. Langer predeceased her in August of 1996.
Mrs. Langer enjoyed traveling, knitting, reading books, and was an avid player of word games. She shared many happy memories of traveling the United Stated by car with her husband after his retirement. They lived for many years in Boulder, Colorado, and she fondly recounted stories of her time there.
Survivors include daughters Alice Baisley of Longmont, Colorado; Judith Polinsky and her husband James of Red Hook, New York; Barbara Molino and her husband Charles of Youngstown, Ohio; 4 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; her sister Janet Cothren and her husband Jack of Hudson, New York, and her brother Richard Vogt and his wife Marlene of Osprey, Florida.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Langer was predeceased by daughter, Linda; sisters Virginia and Marie; brothers Jacob, Henry, James and John; son-in-law Willard Baisley and grandson Benjamin Hemus.
There are no calling hours. Graveside services and burial will be at Assumption Cemetery, Peekskill, on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11:00am. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
