Obituary of Ralph DeFrance

Ralph O. DeFrance, age 69, of Poughkeepsie, NY, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY. Ralph was born May 14, 1942 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was the son of the late Ralph R. and Gladys Soper DeFrance. He married Jean E. Dyson on April 25, 1976 at the New Hackensack Reformed Church, and she survives at home. He was employed by IBM in East Fishkill, retiring in 2001 and was a lifelong local resident. Ralph was a graduate of Arlington High School, was a member of Holy Trinity Church and he enjoyed camping and bowling. Ralph is survived by his wife at home, son Jeffrey DeFrance and his wife Judi of Wappingers, NY, daughter Wendy Roberts and her husband Norman of Granville, NY, daughter Tina Marinovich and her husband Tom of Highland, NY, and daughter Gina Schlosser and her husband Adam of Poughkeepsie, NY. Ralph is also survived by nine grandchildren; Adam Chapin and his wife Amanda, Corey Chapin, Celina Chapin, Joel Roberts, Michael DeFrance, Heather DeFrance, Alyssa Schlosser, Alexis Schlosser, Aaron Schlosser and his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Anna DeFrance and his nephew Robert DeFrance. Ralph was predeceased by his son Ralph A. DeFrance. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:30am in the funeral home.
