Obituary of Richard Corliss

Richard Allen Corliss, 67, of Poughkeepsie, NY died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born in Hillsborough, NH on December 7, 1944, he was the son of Robert James and Ruth Margaret Greg Corliss. A lifelong resident, he had worked independently as a black top paver, from which he retired. Richard married Bonita Jean Miner in Milton, NY on September 24, 1988, and she predeceased him in 2005. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting. Richard is survived by his two sons Art Corliss, Sr., of Kingston, NY and Joshua Corliss of NY and his two daughters Christian Corliss of Texas and Jaimie Corliss of NY. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife who predeceased him, he was also predeceased by his daughter, Nicole Corliss of Poughkeepsie. If desired, donations may be made to the American Heart Association . Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 4:00 - 6:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Service will be held at 5:00pm during visitation in the funeral home. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
