Obituary of Ronald G Curtis

Ronald G Curtis, age 71, of Utica, died Monday, April 30, 2012 at ,Masonic Care Community of New York. Ron was born March 2, 1941 in Queens, NY. He is the son of the late William A. and the late Doris (Buckner) Curtis. He married Karen L. Shook on October 14, 1995 at Woodside AME Zion Church. He was employed by Town Of Poughkeepsie as a Maintenance Man. Ron was a Minister at the Kingston AME Zion Church, was past Pastor of the Woodside AME Zion Church in Stanford CT. and also had previously worked as a butcher at Four Brothers. A Local resident all his life. Ron had an Associates Degree from in business from Queens College. He was a member of the Kingston Masonic Lodge. Ron loved to fish, liked working with ceramics, loved to Cook, listen to Jazz Music. Ron loved his family and friends, he was especially proud of his children's achievements and he adored his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife: Karen L.(Shook) Curtis of Rhinebeck, his four children, Ronald G. Curtis II, Kimberli D. Curry, Leatrice Veach , Dyena J. Curtis, his eight, brothers and sisters, Linda Martin, Constance Parham, Doreen Bassett, William A. Curtis, Trudy Curtis, Jeffery Curtis, Daisy Szczudlik and Kevin Curtis. Ron is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, Mykel, TaKira, Marcus, Jason, Kerri, Joanna, Walter, Darienne, Karenna, Ziyon, Dorian, Darian, Charizma and Justus. Ron is Predeceased by a Brother Michael Curtis. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery at a later date. Calling hours will be Monday, May 7, 2012 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
