Obituary of Eleanor Kordon

Eleanor "Elle" Kordon passed away peacefully at Vassar Hospital on Friday, May 11, 2012 at age 92. Elle was born to the late Victor Lomber and Irene (Bush) Lomber in New Bremen, NY. She is also predeceased by her brother Gerald Lomber, her sister-law Helen Lomber, nephew, Kenny Lomber, and her son-in-law, Harvey Berger. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Berger; Robert Molloy; nieces, Gayle Lee and Cheryl Ann Tarasek, and husband, Henry Taresek, nephew, Gary Lomber and wife Nancy; 3 step-grandchildren, Michael Berger, Barbara Berger, and Robyn Ulbrich; former husband, George Kordon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter and Sonia Kordon. Elle is also survived by Sue, David, Bill, John and Nicholas Ernst, several cousins and Ozzie and Kitty. Elle was a master bridge player, avid reader, and loved crafts and playing cards with friends. She grew up in Lewis County and was graduated early from Lowville Academy with the class of 1935 at age 16. Later she moved to Tonawanda, NY where she cared for her family and worked at the Trane Company. She was a loving mother to her only daughter, Donna, and moved to Poughkeepsie 30 years ago to be near her. She worked at Gloede Neon Sign in Poughkeepsie for 15 years, until retiring at age 79. Elle resided at St. Anna's in Poughkeepsie and was a spirited, independent lady to the day of her passing. Services will be private. Memorials can be sent to Hospice of Dutchess County.
