Obituary of Robert Briggs

Robert H. Briggs, age 57, of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Robert was born March 20, 1955 in Portland , Maine. He is the son of the late Howard and the late Joyce (O'Haire) Briggs. He married Melissa B. Anker on July 15, 2004 in Antigua. Robert was a 28 year local resident. He was a graduate of NHVTC with a Culinary Arts Degree, a graduate of SUNY Empire with a Bachelors Degree as a Certified Hospitality Educator. Robert loved to garden, fish, wood working and camping. He loved the outdoors and NASCAR. He was employed by the Culinary Institude Of America Hyde Park NY as a Chef Instuctor. He is survived by his wife: Melissa B.(Anker) Briggs; daughter: Ella Briggs of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughter and son inlaw Ashley and Quan Nguyen of San Diego CA ;sister: Corinne Briggs and her partner Peter D'Amoor of Gray, Maine; CA; sister and brother In-law, Annette And Stephen Libby of Madison, NH and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 3 from 2pm to 5pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm on Sunday during the calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
