Obituary of Ruth Seidel

Ruth Seidel, 82, passed away June 8, 2012 in Poughkeepsie. She was born September 13, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Curt and Helen Kuhn Wittig. On July 2, 1948 she married Robert A. Seidel at Bethany Lutheran Church Gardens in Springfield, NY. Robert predeceased her on February 26, 2007. A resident of Poughkeepsie for 55 years, Ruth had previously resided in Long Island East Meadow and she attended Queens College in New York City. Ruth and her husband Robert were co-owners of Craftique & Picture Framing Art Supply Shop in Wappingers Falls, NY. She was also co-owner of Forget-Me-Not Collectibles with her daughter. Ruth was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church and belonged to the EGA Needle Works club. She enjoyed water color painting, jewelry making and playing the piano. Ruth is survived by her daughters Jacqueline and Priscilla Seidel both of Poughkeepsie and her son Robert A. Seidel of Poughkeepsie. She was predeceased by her brother Curt Wittig. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 9:30 - 11:00am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie. Services will follow at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Timothy P.
