Obituary of Hilda Sterling

Hilda Janet Sterling, age 85, of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at home in Poughkeepsie. Hilda was born October 28, 1926 in Pine Plains, NY. She is the daughter of the late Ray and the late Ida (Whitney) Decker. She married Harry Frederick Sterling on February 14, 1948. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Frederick Sterling December 1987. She worked for the Vassar College Alumni House for 16 years and also Volunteered for the Lunch Box at the Family Partnership. She is survived by three daughters; Diane Sterling and Jeff Falk of Highland; Gale Busolt and her husband George of Poughkeepsie; Sally Houghtaling and Gary of LaGrange; four grandchildren; Kelly Benjamin and her husband Todd, John Maroney and his wife Holly, Jody Thomsen and her husband Gary and Jason Busolt and his wife Karen. Hilda is also survived by four great grandchildren Gia and Cameron Maroney, Jackson Busolt , Bentley Thomsen, two brothers Frank and Ray Decker and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Paul Sterling, brothers Frank and Harold Decker and her two sisters Marie and Nina. A Graveside service will be held 11am Monday July 23, 2012 at Union Cemetery Hyde Park New York. Calling hours will be held Sunday July 22, 2012 from 3pm to 6pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.
