Obituary of Elizabeth Oakley

Elizabeth (Betty) P. Oakley of Poughkeepsie, NY died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Betty was born in Poughkeepsie on March 6, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Harriet L. (Robinson) Oakley. She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and had attended Krissler Business Institute. Betty worked as an operator for New York Telephone and she retired in the 1950's. She was a member of St. Paul's Church in Poughkeepsie. Betty is survived by her sister Margaret E. Robinson of Poughkeepsie, her niece Donna M. Zajkowski and her husband Paul of Poughkeepsie, her nephew Douglas C. Robinson and his wife Karen and their children Matthew, Olivia J. and Rachel K. Robinson of Troutman, NC. Betty was predeceased by her brother Henry R. Oakley in 1998 and her brother-in-law James C. Robinson in April, 2012. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 from 5:00 - 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 11:00am in the funeral home with Father Tyler Jones of St. Paul's Church officiating.
