Obituary of Eleanor Vermillion

Eleanor A. Vermillion, 73, of Poughkeepsie died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at home. Born in Glen Ridge, NJ on March 13, 1939, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor Lupp Nolan. She had been a local resident since 1995 and was previously of Huntington Woods, Michigan. On May 22, 1963 Eleanor married Robert V. Vermillion, Sr. in Essex Falls, NJ and he survives at home. Eleanor was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and was an avid gardener and quilter. She also had travel with her husband who served in the US Army. In addition to her husband who survives at home, Eleanor is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Theresa Vermillion, Jr., of Mason, OH, her daughter and son-in-law Meredith and Steve Hotchkiss of Fishers, IN and her grandchildren Monica, Kevin, Eric, Laurel, Catherine and Declan. Also surviving are her brothers Edward Nolan, John Nolan and his wife Janet, Ronald Nolan and his wife Barbara and Roger Nolan and his wife Donna, as well as her sisters Thel Brown and Carol McGavin and several nieces and nephews. Eleanor was predeceased by her brother in-laws, Robert Brown and Maurice McGavin. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 10:00am at the Christ Episcopal Church. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Summer Camp Endowment c/o Christ Episcopal Church 20 Carroll Street Poughkeepsie NY 12601. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
