I met Bob at the gym the last Wednesday in June 2012.
I saw him walk by and something inside commanded that I meet him. It was amazing to have this internal argument that said "you HAVE to meet him and if you do not right now do something you may never see him again".
I did not walk up to people at the gym then, but long story short he did say hi to me and that was the beginning of a lovely friendship that in the last fortnight of his life was becoming a romance between good friends. OK, I will tell it- makes me feel better to reminisce. I stood behind him a distance and watched him use the wired equipment that I had been wanting to learn. He noticed and was kind enough to show me how to use it. I was relieved that I had both overcome my inhibitions and fulfilled that powerful internal command I had received (this had never happened before) and I said to myself "there I did it, now leave me alone". Yeah, I am a bit quirky as one of my pals says.
Later, Bob came over when he saw me doing some dance moves to the great music they play at our gym. Turned out he did ballroom, swing, latin!! I had hit the jackpot ! Worst case scenario I had a gym buddy and dance partner.
I just cannot believe that after that powerful Fate like event he was yanked from me so soon.
He loved his sisters, doted on his son, respected and loved the mother of his child. He was a kind and helpful friend to me.
I miss him dearly and sorrow for the lost opportunity to share so much more with him.
Such a unique guy. you would think an old lady lived with him with the tacky flower arrangements in his home. They are made of flowers I did not think you could buy anymore except maybe at the dollar store. He made a cute hanging thing out of snail and clam shells-crafty lady stuff.
You would think an eight year old girl lived with him looking at the Disney posters of Cinderella type characters. He said the latter gave him comfort, what a sweety. A man's man and confident yet so tender.
He bought a tiny white poodle (like my little rescue dog) and named it Fluffy ! I could go on and on. He was a multi-faceted guy full of seeming contradictions, like me and I so looked forward to the personal growth and fun we were on our way to sharing.
Everybody who met him liked him. Bless you Bob
Arrivederci until we meet again.....Iris

I was truly saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He will be sorely misssed even more than he was when he moved to Florida. He wold teasingly state I was "keeping banking hours" when I arrived to the gym late. Consequently I will always remember him fondly as I saunter into the gym at 11 am.
