Obituary of Rita Marone

Rita Marone, age 96, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family, Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Rita was born August 22, 1916 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is the daughter of the late Harry and the late Henrietta (Healy) Green. She married Stephen A. Marone on July 7, 1932 at St. Peters Church Poughkeepsie. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen A. Marone in 1970. She was employed by Arlington Central School District as a Teacher's Aide at the Overlook Elementary School. Rita was a member of Saint Ann's Society at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.. Rita was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School, Dutchess Community College and she also attended Mt. St. Mary's College. Rita was an avid bowler and a member of the Queen City Ladies Bowling League. She is survived by her children: Daughter, Carol Ann McRitchie of Pleasant Valley, NY,: Son, Robert J. Marone and his companion Catherine Spross of Hyde Park, NY, Richard J. Marone and his companion Deborah LeRoy of Hyde Park, NY; Son, Thomas J. Marone, Elvira M. Marone of Lagrange, NY; Son and Daughter In-law, Gary M. And Deborah E. Marone of the Town Of Stanford, Daughter In-Law Joanne C. Marone and 14 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by her Son, Stephen H. Marone, Brother, James Francis Green, Sister, June Elizabeth Varone, Son In-law, William McRitchie and Grandson Stephen M. Marone. Calling hours will be Friday, December 7, 2012 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Friends of the Walkway Over the Hudson.
