Though the years just kept on the leading
There was always a plan and a reason
Love comes in circles
And love takes it's time
Bending and breaking, not taking straight lines
I never knew I never loved timeless and true
Oh, I did, yes I did with you
Love is the reason why
Miracles never die
They just live on and on
Like a song, like a song
In the heart of the one you left behind
Missing you so. My heart is heavy, my only love.

Your first year in heaven filled
With thoughts of you
and sadness in missing you so.
The New Year meant leaving you behind
but never the memories. And the pain goes on.
Watching you battle what was to be at the end
Making each day meaningful for you.
Decisions we made together that
You knew were inevitable
For your final destination.
I saw the pain in your eyes
And your grasping on to life not wanting to leave
Your final day at home so difficult for you
It lay so heavy on my heart and yet you still felt
God was preparing you for a miracle.
Gathering strength we traveled to your temporary home
Knowing you would never see yours again
Or me there with you.
Final wishes for your personal effects
And our last trip together.
Your days were spent waiting for that moment, yet,
Hoping for your miracle - not wavering in faith
I watched you weaken knowing that you were
Slipping away from me. I cared for you as a
Porcelain treasure
You spent your final days
With a strength you fought for - with courage
You knew as you faded into glory you were so loved
More than you had ever known,
And left a gift for me knowing what I needed from you
Your heart knew I would hold your hand until God took it from me.
The years but especially the last weeks, days
And hours we shared will never leave me.
Were it possible I would have taken the pain to ease
Your heartache in leaving this world.
But know this, my love
The most painful tears I shed
Were not the drops
That fell from my eyes
And covered my face
Rather, they were the ones
That fell from my heart
And covered my soul.
Being someone's first love
May be special
But to be their last is beyond perfect
Bless the broken roads that brought us together.
Love In My Heart Forever

Rich and I go way back. In fact, we go way back to August 16, 1950. If you haven't figured it out yet, yes, I am his twin brother, Rob. Since this is the first birthday I am unable to spend with Richie or call him to wish him a happy birthday, I thought perhaps I can do it here. Happy Birthday Richie, I will miss you more than ever on the 16th. Rob

We are sorry for the loss of Richie. I had the opportunity to speak with Richie from Florida the day before his passing. We had a nice talk and his courage, faith and strength was amazing. I am thankful that Richie was able to see the great show of support he received on December 4th at the "Rally for Richie". He had more friends than he thought! My wife and I are in Florida and will not be able to attend the Memorial Service, but our thoughts and prayers are with Richie, his family and friends. He will be missed!

Rich and I go all the way back to John Forbus Junior High School in Poughkeepsie in the early 60's, as we were in the same class. After school, we drifted apart and I met up with him at Spanky's Restaurant in 1986, when I got a job in the kitchen. I worked for and with Richie until 2005, when I moved to California. Richie was very kind and generous.
When I came out to Rich in 1997, he only had kindness... he never judged me and his only concern was that I was OK and Happy. I now live in Sacramento and am saddened that I will not be able to attend his services, but I will be there in spirit and will be sending him a prayer up in heaven where I am sure he is with his Mom and Dad.

Our prayers and thoughts of condolences go out to Richie's family...I imagine Richie being fitted with beautiful gold wings as he takes on the responsibility of being a guardian angels for his loved one here on earth. Whenever we ran into Richie, his first words to us were..."The First Woodstock Of Disco"...a favorite story of his that we will never forget...Always with a smile to greet you...You are home~

What a great honor to have known and been friends with Richie. His faith in the Lord never wavered all through the struggles of his illness. Through his own sickness his focus was not on himself but rather on the gospel of Jesus Christ which he gave freely to so many while he went in and out of the hospital, leading several to faith in Christ! What an inspiration to us. While his journey here on Earth may be over and he's in the glorious presence of The King, his legacy is one that is eternal, not able to be seen with mortal eyes. May all who know him, be comforted in the coming days. Special thanks and blessings to Ms. Robin Carbone for being there by his side right up to the moment of Richie's homegoing.
