Obituary of Ronald Shafer

Ronald Roger Shafer, age 73, of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Ron was born August 31, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is the son of the late John and the late Peggy (Bailey) Shafer. He was employed by Marr Printing Poughkeepsie New York as a Pressman. Ron was a member of BPOE #275, ASA Umpires Association, Poughkeepsie Elks Bowling League, Friday Night Men's Bowling League and the Irish American Club in Poughkeepsie. Ron Loved to Bowl and Umpire. During the times that he Bowled in different leagues he did have a perfect 300 game. He is survived by one daughter: Heather Equinoss and Her Companion Matthew Issac of Blue Lake, CA; sister: Sarah Kilmer of Elizaville, NY and one brother: Dennis W. Shafer of Poughkeepsie, NY; brother and sister In-law, John D. And Joanne Shafer of Clinton Corners, NY.,he also has one grandchild. Grandson, Silas Issac of Blue Lake, CA. and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Route 9D, Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Timothy P.
