Obituary of Katherine Carroll

Katherine F. Carroll, age 87, of the Fountains in Millbrook , died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center of Poughkeepsie, NY. Mrs. Carroll was born February 21, 1925 in Pittston, PA. She is the daughter of the late Edward and the late Helen (Tierney) Shriver. She married Thomas E. Carroll on January 21, 1954 at Pittston Pa. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas E. Carroll on 2005. She was a homemaker most of her life and previously worked as a seamstress at City Cleaners in Poughkeepsie. Katherine was a Graduate of Pittston High School in Pittston PA. Katherine was a local resident since 1957. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie where she sang in the Choir. Katherine was also a past Officer for the Ladies Auxiliary of the K of C Florentine Council. Katherine loved to socialize but most of all she enjoyed being with her family. She is survived by her son Thomas E. Carroll Jr. and his significant other Mary Prince of Pleasant Valley, son Darren J. Carroll and his wife Rene' Layton-Carroll of Westfield Indiana and her son Edward Carroll and his wife Lisa of Morristown NJ. Katherine is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew Carroll, Elizabeth Carroll, Glenn Carroll and his girlfriend Annie Senti, Kieran Carroll, Aubrie Carroll, Benjamin Carroll , Jessica Prince, James Prince and her sister Ann Lombardo. Katherine is also survived by several nieces and nephews and predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, Edward Schriver, Eleanor Dominici, Joseph Schriver, Elizabeth Schriver and William Schriver. A Celebration of Katherine's Life and Funeral Services will be held Saturday March 23, 2013 at 11am at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association New York Chapter 360 Lexington Ave. New York, New York 10017.
