Obituary of Edward Dombroski

Edward L. Dombroski, 86, passed away peacefully at home in Poughkeepsie on February 4, 2013. He was born April 29, 1926 in Green Point, Brooklyn to Bernard and Teresa Wisniewski Dombroski. On June 16, 1951 Edward married Theresa F. Majkowski at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Brooklyn, NY. She survives at home. A previous resident of Green Point, Brooklyn Edward graduated from high school there. He served in the United States Air Force and then worked as an Engineer for IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY. He also owned a couple of patents. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 304, Polish Club, Polka Sportsman and Holy Trinity Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Edward was passionate about "Right to Life" and devoted a lot of time to help out. He taught engraving at Green Haven, loved to fish and bowl. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren and his great granddaughter. Along with his wife, Edward is survived by his daughter Terri Meenagh of Santa Fe, NM; son & daughter-in-law Richard and Carol Dombroski of Cary, NC; daughter Elaine Castellano of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughter Barbara Dombroski of Highland, NY; daughter and son-in-law Laurie and Bill Wajda of Staatsburg, NY; grandchildren Lisa, Maureen, Beth and her husband Robert, Tim and his wife Carleah, Kristin, Liam, Tiffany, Michael, Michelle, Claire, Abby, Natalie, Sean and great granddaughter Brianna. He was predeceased by sisters Florence Edwards and Wanda Dombrowski. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 4:00-8:00pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church.
