Obituary of Eleanor Robertson

Eleanor J. Robertson, 79, a lifelong resident of Hyde Park, NY passed away peacefully on February 13, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY, after a short illness, with her loving family by her side. Born on January 10, 1934 she was the daughter of Michael and Margaret Dupilka. They predeceased her in 1982 and 1987, respectively. A lifelong member of the VFW Ladies Auxilary Post #170, she was dedicated to the well being of others. In addition she was an avid cat lover and donated to various charities against animal abuse. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family. She was married on March 25, 1951 at St. Peters Church in Poughkeepsie, NY to Frederick W. Robertson Jr.. He predeceased her on August 4, 1996. Together they had 3 children; Frederick and spouse Nancy Robertson and Robin and Tim Crandell of Poughkeepsie, NY and Lori and Roger Gray of Modena, NY. In addition to her children she is survived by her 6 grandchildren; Matthew Robertson of Rutherford, NJ, Nicole Crandell of Bantam, CT, Michael Crandell and Deanna Robertson of Poughkeepsie, NY and Kristen and David Gray of Modena, NY. Though the family will miss her quick with humor and easy-going nature, her memory will live on forever. She is survived by her brothers Louis DuPilka and Michael DuPilka and sister Marie Arvanetes. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers Cornelius (Frank) DuPilka, John DuPilka, and sisters Margaret Cary and Marietta Guido. Calling hours will be held Friday, February 15, 2013 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc. from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 16 at 10am in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery in the Community Mausoleum and entombment will follow.
