Obituary of Andrew Biro

Andrew W Biro, age 93, of Hopewell Junction, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Lutheran Care Center of Poughkeepsie, NY. Andrew was born May 1, 1919 in Yonkers, NY. He is the son of the late John and the late Mary Biro. He married Dorothy Sher on September 19, 1938 in Yonkers, NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Sher on September 3, 1992. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a retired employee of Otis Elevator where he was a Shop Stewart. Andrew was a local resident for the last 41 years, previously from Yonkers. Andrew attended the Saunders Technical Trade School in Yonkers. He was a member of the NRA, was a small Plane Pilot and loved to fish and Hunt. He is survived by ; Son and Daughter In-law, Andrew W. and Janet Biro Jr. of Ocean Isle Beach NC; Son and Daughter In-law, Ronald and Maria Biro of Poughkeepsie, NY; Daughter and Son In-law, Barbara and Robert Citarella of Staatsburg, NY. Andrew is also survived by 11 grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his Infant Son Donald Biro, Granddaughter Tanya Biro, Sister Julia Balog and Brother, Peter Biro. Calling hours will be held Wednesday March 27, 2013 from 7pm to 9pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Thursday March 28, 2013 at the Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel St. Peters Parish 185 Hudson View Drive Poughkeepsie, New York, with Father A. Garisto as the Celebrant. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
