Obituary of Frieda Miller

Frieda M. Miller, 89, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. A resident of the Town of LaGrange for 62 years, Frieda was born in Poughkeepsie on February 29, 1924 to James and Nettie Sosnofsky Marcus. On September 24, 1949 she married John W. Miller at St. Peter's Church in Poughkeepsie. He predeceased her on July 28, 2004. Frieda graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1941 and then worked as a homemaker raising six children. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She is survived by sons Dr. Richard Miller & his wife Michiko of Los Altos, CA; James Miller & his wife Helena of Poughkeepsie, NY; Jonathan Miller & his wife Cathy of Wappingers Falls, NY and Michael Miller & his wife Valerie of Lorain, OH; daughter Elaine Squeo & her husband Al of Brewster, NY; sister Bernice Zahler of Rockville Centre, NY; nephew Joseph Chimbel; nieces Maryann Decker, Karen Kearney and MaryLou DeSantis; 11 grandchildren: Nicole Miller, Dagan, Galen, Leland & Logan Miller, Devin Miller, Dylan Squeo, Dana & Anna Miller, Allison & Nolan Miller; great-grandchildren Amauri Smith Miller and Ian Miller. She was also predeceased by her son Dr. Robert W. Miller and sister Shirley Chimbel Hough. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A service will be held in the funeral home at 10:00am on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
