Obituary of Anthony Smith

Anthony Henry Smith, 73, a longtime resident of the Hudson Valley passed away Monday, April 15 at home Surrounded by his loved ones. Anthony was born on October 3, 1939 in Harlem New York to the late Anthony Clarence and Betty Meuller Smith. Anthony was a graduate of the Valley Forge Military Academy and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was known as Socrates to his classmates, and he also won the McClosky medal for discipline. Anthony worked as an Educator working with children at risk, later he dedicated much of his life to the study and practice of folk education. He was a musician, an artist and philosopher. Anthony spent his life committed to finding "better answers" to find ways to use the transformative force of love to support and promote well-being and the common good.
