Obituary of Charles Betsch

Charles D. Betsch, 59, of Hopewell Junction, NY, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2013 after his long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends at the time of his passing. Charles was born July 21, 1953, in Philadelphia, PA. He was the son of the late Florence D. and Christian C. Betsch. He attended LaSalle College in Philadelphia, PA, graduating with a BS degree in business administration. He was currently employed by Loehmans Department Store in Riverdale, Bronx, NY, as the store manager. Charles was a retailer at heart and he also worked for Target, Filene's Basement, G. Fox Department Store, and John Wanamaker's. Charles enjoyed golf trips to Myrtle Beach, vacationing with his family and spending time with his granddaughters. His love of spending summer weeks at the beach in Ocean City, NJ will continue on through his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sandra Betsch; daughter and son in law, Stephanie and Cory Hye; son, David Betsch; and two granddaughters, Emily and Charlotte Hye. The family will receive their friends on Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 12 - 2 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY. Services will immediately follow the visitation. Final arrangements will take place at the convenience of the family.
