Obituary of Helen Majewski

Helen Ann Majewski, age 90, of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Helen was born February 11, 1923 in East Hampton, MA. She is the daughter of the late Andrew and the late Mary (Misch) Majewski. She married Frank Majewski on January 28, 1950 at Sacred Heart Church Danbury, CT. Helen served in the United States Navy in the Naval Transport services division as a 3rd Class Specialist. She was a local resident for the last 23 years, previously residing in Wantagh LI. Helen like to read, sew and garden. Helen was previously employed as a secretary at Leahy's Fuel Oil Company Danbury CT, Wantagh School District and the Free Port School District. She is survived by her husband: Frank Majewski of Poughkeepsie, NY; sister Jeanette Dziminowicz of Poughkeepsie; her two nieces, Mary Jean Fereday of Danbury, CT, Janina Hart of Poughkeepsie and her two nephews Michael Dziminowicz Lawndale CA and David Dziminowicz of Boynton Beach, Fla. The family would like to thank the 7th floor staff of Vassar Brothers Medical Center for the great care that was given to Helen while she was a patient there. A graveside service will be private and at the convenience of the family at St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury, CT. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Timothy P.
