Obituary of Daniel Ferrara
Daniel Martin Ferrara, age 65, of Pleasant Valley, NY passed peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, June 7, 2013 after a short battle with an illness. Daniel was born on September 18, 1947 in Bronx, NY.
He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx. He enlisted in the Army on April 12, 1967 and he served in the Vietnam Conflict until November 13, 1968. Daniel married the love of his life, Noreen Heffernan, April 12, 1970.
He was successful in many career roles, which included; being a local small business owner, a real estate agent, a salesman, and a commercial driver. However, the job he took the most seriously was that of a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. He was an avid collector, a passionate angler and had a love and passion for life that couldn't be matched.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Noreen Ferrara of Pleasant Valley, NY; his sister Muriel Tomasetti and her husband John of Pleasant Valley, NY; his three sons Daniel Ferrara and his wife Victoria of LaGrange, NY, Michael Ferrara and his fiancé Alissa DeLucia of Wappingers Falls, NY, and Eric Ferrara and his wife Kimberly of Poughkeepsie, NY; his daughter Jennifer Ferrara; his granddaughter Alexis Ferrara; grandson Jackson Ferrara; and numerous nieces and nephews. Daniel was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Ethel Ferrara, both of the Bronx, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at St. Stanislaus Church, Main Street Pleasant Valley. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
