Obituary of Francisco O'Neil
Francisco Ramos O'Neil 84 of North Myrtle Beach died surrounded by family on Saturday June 15, 2013. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on July 29, 1928. He lived in the Hudson Valley for over 40 years before relocating to South Carolina.
On December 29, 1950 at St. John's Church in New York Francisco married Carmen Ramos, she survives at home. Francisco served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. he received two Bronze Service Stars, the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
Francisco was a bus driver for the NYC Transit Authority and Dutchess County Loop (Mountain view Coach) for over 20 years wherein he received many accommodations before retiring in 1994 due to illness. He had an unconditional love of the New York Mets, as well as loved watching boxing with his family. He enjoyed dancing and music, he was a caring gentleman who taught his family the gift of love, kindness, patience and goodness. He was a accomplished cook preparing meals of his homeland, Puerto Rico, for his generation of family. Most of all, he adored accompanying his wife to BINGO.
Francisco was predeceased by his daughter, Norma Dorsey. He is survived by his daughter and son in-law, Carmen and Barry Silverstein, son and daughter in-law Frank and Carla Ramos, daughter Myrna Ramos, grandchildren Scott Silverstein, Taanya Mannain, Kiesha Jackson, Elizabeth Carrion Azze, Shannon Ramos, Brandon Rawlings and Simon Ramos, ( great grandchildren, Skye, Savannah, Sadie and Sienna Silverstein, Karl, Aidan and Carmen Mannain, Shea and Aliza Ramos.
Calling hours will be held Sunday June 23, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
