Obituary of Tommy Hallstead

Tommy A. Hallstead, 56, of the Town of LaGrange died at Vassar Hospital Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Born in Poughkeepsie on April 9, 1957, he was the son of the late Herbert and Edith Hallstead. Tommy was a graduate of Arlington High School, a local resident all his life. He enjoyed his involvement with New Horizons of Dutchess County for several years. Tommy has participated in services at Holy Trinity, St. Martin dePorres and St. Mary's Mother of God in Fishkill. Tommy was a cashier at Walmart in Fishkill, NY for 14 years and employed at IBM in Fishkill, New York previously. As a child Tommy was an avid skier, swimmer and enjoyed playing the piano. As an adult, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, joining his friends for lunch, and interacting with his neighbors. Tommy is survived by his brothers and sisters: Robert Hallstead and his wife Candy of California, Carol Hallstead and her husband Thomas Risberg of Stratham, NH, Richard Hallstead and his wife Fredette of California, Larry Hallstead of Kingston, NY, Joan McGreevy and her husband Jim of North Carolina, Leslie Baker and her husband Glen of Tivoli, NY and seven nieces and nephews. The funeral mass will be held 10am Monday, July 22, 2013, at Holy Trinity Church 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Burial will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, New York.
