Obituary of Eric Johnson

Eric E Johnson, 76, life long area resident passed away August 18, 2013 with his wife by his side. Born in Poughkeepsie NY on March 4, 1937, he was the son to the late Theodore and Louis Johnson. Eric served in the National Guard in 1950/60, as Gunnery Sergeant with Baker Battalion 156 Field Artillery, NYSNG/ Poughkeepsie. On August 15, 1986 in Poughkeepsie NY, Eric married Beatrice Knapp, Beatrice survives at home. Eric worked for the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department for many years until retiring in 1990. Eric enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time in the Adirondacks with his wife. In addition to his wife Eric is survived by his two daughters, Kathleen Kotchie, and husband Bill of Florida, Tracey Johnson of Hyde park NY, sister Bettie Jane Cross of New Jersey, grandchildren, David Kotchie, Megan Caron, and Steven Graham. Great-grandchildren Lucas and Isabelle, common nephews, Shane and Lance Johnson, step children, Timothy Shea of Buffalo NY, Kimberly Shea of Hudson NY, Rhonda Marshall of Elka Park NY, and several step grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Friday night August 23, 2013 at 7:00 pm at John 3:16 Christian Center, 3112 Route 82, Verbank NY Donations to the Parkinson's Foundation would be appreciated.
