Obituary of Gordon Lifshin

Gordon Allen Lifshin, age 55, of Hyde Park, died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at home in Poughkeepsie. Mr. Lifshin was born March 8, 1958 in Newburgh, NY. He is the son of the late Walter and the late Joan M. (Dickson) Lifshin. He was employed by Aviello Paving as a Driver. Gordon was a member of VFW in Poughkeepsie. Gordon was raised by his step father Robert Kingsley Scott Sr. He was an avid self taught Guitar Player. He like to go to concerts he enjoyed music and enjoyed to golf. He is survived by ;his sister: Roberta Katherine Scott and her companion Jeff Snyder of Hyde Park, NY and two brothers: Brian David Lifshin of Hyde Park, NY, Robert Kingsley Scott Jr. of Poughkeepsie, NY; his two nephews, Robert Kingsley Scott III and Dylan Christopher Scott and a good family friend Linda Howley. Predeceased by his Step Father, Robert Kingsley Scott Sr., Brother, Bruce Thomas Lifshin, Brother, Steven Meyers Lifshin. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am on Friday, August 30, 2013 at St. Peters Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY Calling hours will be Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society .
