I was Noel's tutor in Poughkeepsie when I went to Vassar. A few days ago, some of my students asked me why I went in to teaching. I told a story about Noel....just tonight I googled his name. I am so very sorry to learn that he is gone. He was a great kid!

Ginger.....even though we haven't been in touch for over 40 years, I want to express my sympathy to you and your family on your loss. I remember you and Noel together way back in high school......a great love story! I wish that we had stayed in touch over the years, for time passes much too quickly. God bless you and your family at this very difficult time.......

I unfortunately never really had the opportunity to get to know Noel on a more personal level. As a fellow employee at Mike Arteaga's though he had this sort of power to always make you feel good just by walking in the room, smiling and saying hello. That's probably because he enjoyed his job and was really good at it. He is sorely missed!

I have known Noel for many years in my association with the gym. He was kind, helpful, and always made time to say hello. My favorite memories of Noel are from when Noel taught spinning classes. Friday mornings were the best, and it was obvious how much he knew and loved music, because the songs he chose were so much fun to ride and sing to! There were several of us who regularly attended, because Noel just made it so enjoyable. Thank you, Noel, for so many good memories. I will miss you.

Dear Ginger and Family - I was so saddened to hear about Noel. What a wonderful person he was! Please remember all the wonderful years you had together, and take comfort from them. As a testament to what a great person he was, I couldn't even get in to offer my condolences in person; there must have been 200 or so people in line at 5:00 today! So here I offer my prayers for you and your family, and please know I am thinking of you at this sad time. I will always remember Noel as one of the nicest men I have ever met, and I will miss seeing him at the gym with his ready smile. God bless you all. Love, Starla

I only knew Noel for a short period of time over the past 2 months or so. In that short period of time I grew to admire him for his strong, warm, friendly personality. His face would light up when I shared some softball stories about my girls or other kids he knew. If he left such a lasting loving memory for me in my short time of knowing him, I can only imagine how others that knew him a lot longer than I are feeling. It was my pleasure to get to know you Noel.

Although you do not know me, I have been acquainted with Noel for many years form the gym. I loved his bike classes and truly regretted that his health did not permit him to continue. Noel and I talked about our grandsons and they were always warm conversations. Despite your grief, you do retain wonderful memories of him.

Dear Ginger and family, How I feel for you! I’ll never forget meeting Noel when he came to visit you at work and you introduced this incredibly funny man to us…..lol (our years working in the Bardavon Building….good times!) What a joy he was! He hung out and talked with us all as if he had known us for years, yet we had just met. And do you remember the funny messages he’d leave on the answering machine that you made us listen to? Whenever we were having a stressful day, you would have us come to your office and you’d replay those messages to make us laugh! Hold onto to these and countless memories that you have and remember that a great soul never dies. Nicky and Danny, take care of mom, okay? Love, Enza Buonaiuto

I had the good fortune to play alongside Noel for many years on local softball teams. Hard to remember specific details or stories, because they were quite a few years ago.
Noel was a feared hitter who could pound the ball and he was a key middle of the order batter. My Red Sox loyalties led to some great baseball discussions both on the field and in the bar afterwards. Unfortunately, during those years the Red Sox were usually whipping boys for the Yankees. Pretty much the same way Noel mashed pitching during our softball days.
Noel was one of the most consistently positive teammates I ever played with. He was fun to be around and added far more than softball talent to the teams we played on. He always put his best competitive effort on the field, but loosened up and enjoyed those many hours in the bar talking baseball and just enjoying life.
There is most certainly a softball team in the afterlife enjoying Noel's talent and company.

Remember I Am Always With You When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears. But be thankful we had so many good years. I gave you my love, and you can only guess how much you've given me happiness. I thank you for the love that you have shown. But now it is time I traveled alone. So grieve for me for a while, if grieve you must Then let the grief be comforted by trust That it is only for a while that we must part. So treasure the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on. And if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near. And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear all my love around you soft and clear and then, when you come this way alone I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home". ~ Author Unknown
