Obituary of Peggy Dolan

Peggy Dolan, 93, passed away October 2, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was born September 8, 1920 in New York City to Martin and Margaret McDermott Dillon. On June 28, 1942 she married John J. Dolan in New York City. He predeceased her on November 11, 2011. A Poughkeepsie resident since 1992, she had previously resided in New York City and Goshen, NY. Peggy attended St. Catherine Academy and then went on to raise her family whom she loved dearly. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and her family meant everything to her. Peggy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Maureen & Hugh E. O'Rourke; of East North Point, NY; son and daughter-in-law John & Nancy Dolan of Highland Mills, NY; daughter and son-in-law Peggy & Stan Lanigan of Poughkeepsie; daughter Marion Rohde of Poughkeepsie; son and daughter-in-law Raymond & Denise Dolan of Rockville Center, NY; daughter-in-law Susan Dolan of the Bronx, NY; Sr. Mary Elizabeth Dolan of Hartsdale; 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Bobby Dolan in 1993, her son-in-law Carl Rohde, her sisters Marion Schwake & Helen Wallace and brother John Dillon. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
